For forty years Pater Moeskroen have been synonymous with musicianship, energy and a hefty dose of sheer joy in playing. And that calls for a celebration! With a band name that winks at the town of Mouscron (Moeskroen), a Flemish frontman and a deep love of the Burgundian good life, the lads tell the story of Pater Moeskroen through classics from Belgium’s rich pop history.
What does that sound like? Well-known classics and hidden gems are given a completely new look: from Raymond van het Groenewoud to Clouseau, from Urbanus to Milow and even K3—everything gets that unmistakable Pater Moeskroen sound.
Expect a sparkling mix of folk, melancholy and cheerfulness, laced with Celtic influences and delivered by born musicians who switch effortlessly between an impressive arsenal of instruments. The more restrained chansons of Jan de Wilde, Johan Verminnen and Will Tura, among others, also have their place in this warm and varied show.
