Plankton & Feikes Huis
In a whirlwind duet between humankind and its surroundings, the 200,000-year history of our species on earth is told. From the discovery of fire to the extinction of this dominant species: it all features in this tragicomic, visual show full of inventive stage tricks and unexpected twists.
On a classic little proscenium stage with diorama-like sets, two actors play the earth; they make birds fly, waves swell and mountains grow. The third performer – the human – tries to get a grip on that world. But the greater the urge for control, the more goes wrong. A tree stump snaps in two, a fall through the mountain landscape drags half the set down with it, and not even the velvet theatre curtain is spared. What follows is an inevitable chain reaction of failure – hilarious and moving at the same time.
After Om de hoek woont een struik and Er rent een berg voorbij, this show is the final part of Plankton’s triptych about the relationship between humans and nature. With playful humour, the soloing human is knocked off its pedestal and made part of the ensemble once more.
A comic, confronting and visual spectacle, with live piano, for everyone aged 8 and up!
