Tineke Schouten is well past retirement age, yet night after night she still plays to sold-out houses. When you see her racing and flying around the stage, you wonder how she keeps up the killer pace of her shows. And that is exactly the question Schouten asks herself in her new show Femme Vitaal.
Putting her feet up behind the net curtains is not for her. But fair’s fair, getting back up out of that armchair is a lot harder than it was 20 years ago. So as not to disappoint her audience, Tineke is doing all she can to stay fit and healthy on stage for years to come. What is the secret of eternal youth? Joining in with Nederland in Beweging on NPO 1 every morning? Or something more along the lines of De Perfecte Verbouwing on RTL 4?
In her 28th (yes, you read that right) show, roaring laughter alternates with moving songs, accompanied by Tineke’s regular musicians. For her audience – now spanning four generations – Tineke bares all. Well, almost all. Because lately the queen of comic characters prefers something with a longer sleeve.
Femme Vitaal makes a spiritual journey to inner beauty and primal strength. Lovely, of course. But Tineke is also just glad to be alive. Young at heart and with her GP’s approval, she is setting off on tour around the country once again.
