Pa
From the makers of 'Ma', 'Now I see you' and 't Hooge Nest', a new performance about a father who takes a fascinating tour through his own reality.
Dad is looking for his guitar, because he has to use it soon. He can't let his fans down, can he? And his band is already waiting at Schiphol. But why does his roadie suddenly call him Dad?
With the solo performance 'Pa', played by Eric Corton (also on guitar!), Solo Stories celebrates its 10th anniversary. To once again reflect on the hundreds of thousands of people with dementia and their informal caregivers, the makers of 'Ma' are presenting a completely new performance about this phenomenon.
A moving, witty and musical story about a father who takes a fascinating tour through his own reality.
Thirty-minute documentary prior to the performance
Prior to this performance at 7:30 PM, we offer a thirty-minute documentary in our Multifesta. The performance was developed based on the experience stories of actor Eric Corton, script writer Marc Veerkamp and director Benno Hoogveld. Eric and Benno's fathers and Marc's aunt died from the effects of dementia. Eric recently worked in elderly care for some time and he also includes those experiences in the monologue. In this documentary, Eric, Marc and Benno talk about the creation of the performance and how their own experiences became part of the process of making this theater production. If you want to watch the documentary, choose the price type 'normal incl. documentary'.
